Job Description

Role & responsibility:

• Assist with the unloading of delivered food supplies.
• Organize and correctly storing food supplies.
• Prompt transfer of food ingredients from storage areas to kitchen prepping area.
• Preparation of meal ingredients, which includes washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping fruit, vegetables, poultry, and meat.
• Cook and assemble dishes as indicated by recipes/steps provided.
• Ensure that all dishes are prepared correctly and in a timely manner.
• Clean and sanitize all food preparation areas according to established standards of hygiene.
• Sweep and mop the kitchen floors and wipe down kitchen tiles.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the line supervisor.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• At least 1 year of experience working in a cafe, kitchen or restaurant
• Understanding of cooking methods, Ingredients, Equipment, procedures, and knife handling skills
• Ability to perform tasks with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail
• Ability to read, understand and follow cooking directions clearly
• Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment
• Must be organized and self-motivated
• Must be able to stand, bend, stretch, and lift, and carry heavy materials
