Job Description:

Functions :

- Provides leadership to the Engineering department and supervises the Human Resources in the department to attract, retain and motivate the staff; hire, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel, conduct performance and salary reviews, resolve problems

- Responsible for the short and long term planning and day-to-day operations of the Engineering division in order to ensure that the overall upkeep and maintenance of the hotel and property is in excellent operating condition

- Provides direction and guidance to the Engineering team in the regular execution of all necessary daily, monthly, quarterly repair and maintenance of hotel and property-wide operating equipment including but not limited to all pumps, motors, boilers etc

- Develops, implements and manages emergency programs for the operation and maintenance of all equipments

- Reviews maintenance problems, complaints and work orders to prioritize and schedule works for speedy resolution

- Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctioning mechanical systems and equipments

- Inspects property regularly to identify current and potential future needs

- Develop, recommend, implement and manage the department’s operating and capital budget expenditure plan, forecasts and objectives consistent with maintaining a first class property and management’s expectations

- Solicits bids from contractors and evaluating their proposals. Once contractor is selected and employed, ensuring the project is completed to specifications with minimal disruptions to operations and within budget

- Develops and implements operational strategies, policies and procedures and ensure compliance

- Develop, implement and manage energy conservation programs for the property to minimize expenses

- Sets up limits of Authority to the personnel in the department to recognize the scope of responsibility, control the creation of unauthorized or unintended liabilities, and maintain the orderly conduct of the company business affairs

- Defines the role and responsibilities of each staff in department to set clear expectations for staff, minimizing conflict and confusion

Requirements :

- University graduate in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent education

- Preferably certified such as Certified Engineering Operations Executive (C.E.O.E) or equivalent

- HVAC, Air cooled chiller, plumbing & electrical experience or technical training preferred

- EPA, CPO and HVAC certifications are a plus
